And if they come please leave your leftist BS behind.

Thank you.

There's room for all. Robert.

Not the ones that voted for mamdani or newsome.. or those dumbass JINO's that move someplace and try to make it like where they moved from

Ehud Neor's avatar

I can't understand them, Robert, but if a Jew makes aliya because of antisemitism no one will be checking their political allegiances.

But then they'll vote and it'll be too late cause they'll vote for Ballad and any party that brings out enemies to the forefront.

I am curious, why would an anti-Zionist Jew (aka 'self-hating Jew') want to move to Israel? Does this really happen? If so, it reminds me of Californians fleeing that state and moving to Texas, turning it "purple". Conservative Texans complain that the newcomers bring their liberal worldview with them. Israel is expensive, and there is a risk of terrorist attacks, so anyone wanting to live there must be quite committed and presumably pro-Israel. But I also know it has Leftists there in Tel Aviv and elsewhere who undermine it from within. You would think that after Oct 7th, that would have dissipated, but it just went quiet for a while, but never went away, and is expressed through anti-Netanyahu protests. All Westernized nations have this problem.

I hope the anti-zionist Jews stay here and get killed first. They deserve it. They are the worst people in America. I have wet dreams about Peter Beinart and Norman Finkelstein being dragged to the gallows screaming "But we're the good Jews."

And Bernie Sanders too. Being oh so shocked.

Ehud Neor's avatar

I don't expect to see anti-Zionist Jews making Aliya.

I thought G-d was giving us signs— He wanted us back in Israel. But it’s impossible for my family to make Aliyah. So I thought maybe G-d wants many of us to remain in the diaspora so we can show people we dont have horns, teach people facts, history and that we are good and deserving…

Ehud Neor's avatar

I hear you. Maybe in the future what is impossible today will become possible. As for your plan of action, don't waste your time. The line has been drawn. Jew haters are not open to persuasion. Those who stand with the Jews do not need convincing. Thanks for reading and commenting. All the best.

You shouldn’t have to teach people that you are good and deserving. If they don’t see what is evident it is because they do not want to do so.

Ehud Neor's avatar

Emerald, I try putting myself in CK's place. What can she do? And as Alan (as usual) scolded me: why take the stance that people cannot change? If a Zionist Jew is making a stand in the Diaspora, in the face of unprecedented difficulties, I can only stand with him or her. Yes, this is me talking, the "Universal Zionist." (my X tag).

E. E.—N. (Emerald)'s avatar

I understand but Israel is such a great country. It is a big deal, especially for a family.

Look at Nuna's comment. I thought everyone knew at least one Jew.

Ehud Neor's avatar

For some reason it is not appearing here (it was an email):

"We DO need to teach people. You wouldn't believe the huge number of people I meet who have never met a Jew before--in America! Some even ask questions about lies from 'the protocols'! If you've never met a Jew before, much less sat down and talked, I imagine this makes it easier for those with no exposure to listen to and possibly believe the constant stream of antisemitic llibels--after all, our mortal--and I DO MEAN MORTAL--enemies scream their lies the loudest and repeat them like machine guns. People need to hear from US, otherwise, our enemy is the only voice they hear."

Let me know when the shekels start flowing in. :)

Lebo Von Lo-Debar's avatar

Okay I will. I think the plan is sound, and yet it hasn't started "flowing" as I have anticipated. No problem.

I’m already there, in my mind.

In reality, it’s a little tougher.

I have two dogs. One of them can’t fly as cargo. What do people do?

Ehud Neor's avatar

I have no idea, Ruth. I imagine that if there is a massive aliya, ships would be involved, and that could be a solution for your dog.

I love your new strategy, Ehud. Not sure it'll be effective, but I admire your willingness to try some A/B testing. :-)

I notice that your new approach is more about "high tech innovation, Torah learning, and overall flourishing" and less about some metaphysical truth that Israel is supposed to convey to the world. Yes, an Israel with 15-16 million Jews would have a larger GDP, but I don't believe that would make Israel a brighter light to the nations.

You, Ehud, are part of a return that sends a powerful message about G*d's hand in history. I mean, who other than the Creator of the Universe could persuade a guy to convert to Judaism, and then leave his home in Martha's Vineyard and move to Gaza? That, my friend, is a miracle to which I am a proud witness! ... And once people acknowledge that miracle and see that Hand, it's hard to unsee it. But another 8 million Jews making aliyah does little to make that miracle and Presence more obvious.

The nation-state of Israel, simply by existing as it does today, drives the world crazy, ultimately in a good way. In the meantime, the ride will be bumpy, both for Jews in the land and those of us outside of it.

David Kopel's avatar

Except maybe Satmar who are already there. The ones in Brooklyn voted 90% for Mamdani. I think we need to take baby steps toward aliyah by first purging the 30% who denounce and vote against Israel in times of war, including woke progressives, wayward young people and religious extremists. I know we're supposed to love our fellow jews, but i think at this point we need have our civil war and get it over with.

E. E.—N. (Emerald)'s avatar

I am going to keep saying it until my last breath: If I were a Jew I would have made Aliyah yesterday.

I am a non Jew Zionist and would be happy to live in Israel. Who knows? Maybe there is still a way forward for us lovers of the land and Torah who are not Jews.

Alan, at a minimum you have to visit. Dvora and Ehud are amazing people to spend time with. I can’t wait to go back!

Emerald, Alan has a standing invitation. As do all of my readers who are active in the comments section (and of course my paid subscribers).

It has certainly been on my mind these last few years. I have family responsibilities here that I cannot and will not abandon, and despite my best efforts my parents are still in the head in the sand phase of processing what NYC has become. I can’t leave them behind. But it is untenably miserable to be visibly Jewish in Brooklyn in 2026.

I pray above all else it doesn’t come to one of us being hurt or killed before they finally have to look at the state of the diaspora squarely in the face. I recognize it would mean starting everything I have built here from scratch, and yet were it solely my choice I would have made it years ago. Hopefully someday I will still get to.

Ehud Neor's avatar

Thanks for commenting David. As you can see from the other comments you are not alone.

Correct. I volunteered to go to Israel on the first day of the Yom Kippur War because my Jewish girlfriend was fulfilling her wish for aliya (though I had no idea what it was), had left England the week before.

I was allocated Kibbutz Grofit near Eilat, she was in a Kibbutz near Lebanon.

Grofit, at the time, was one of the youngest kibbutzim in Israel and we were all around 20-30 years old...it turned out that well over half the volunteers who went on the kibbutz from America were left wing...

Be careful.
