What a moving (and painful) experience this must have been for you. Richard and his bloody nose and his words to you as you walked off the field leaving the Jew hating “coach” behind you.
My mind goes back to Howie, my older brother’s kippah wearing classmate who walked with us to P.S 26 in the Bronx and mom’s admonition: “Be good to the Jews, they are God’s chosen people.” I am guess mom was schooling us because she knew the evil that lurked around and didn’t want it to infect her kids.
