I've been following Rabbi Alperowitz since he opened Chabad on Martha's Vineyard about half a mile from the last home I lived in on the island. He has been writing forcefully against antisemitism but more importantly, he has been providing the environment for an authentic and rich Torah-centric Jewish experience, based on Jewish education. Give him support and subscribe to his Substack.
This is a Christian who embraces the Jewishness of her Saviour by delving into Jewish sources. Interesting.
Solid writing "from the edge" (you'll get it when you start reading. Subscribe fast: he's offering a free book. One of the top Zionist voices on Substack. A must subscribe.
I've read two posts (they are what one might delicately call: "long-form"), and so far I've been reading the best writing I've ever encountered on Substack.
It sounds cliche, but choosing to be a friend of Israel at this point in history takes courage. It is well worth your while to follow her, as she is a level-headed commentator.
Gavriela, documenting her adventures as a new immigrant, is at the same time doing the grunt work of explaining to Diaspora Jewry why they should be immigrating to Israel too, but unlike me she manages to do it with a hug and a warm heart. She is effective in doing this. She is an excellent and captivating writer and deserves to be followed widely.
Alan is imagining the possibility of a continued flourishing Jewish world in the Diaspora, all while giving Zionists like myself their due. I absolutely disagree with his approach, but...good writing and original thinking carry the day. This Substack is worth your while.
This is writing that is clear, well thought-out, and simply a pleasure to read, no matter what the subject matter. Good writing stands out and proclaims itself, and a good reader knows good writing when he sees it. Thomas M Gregg is bringing us good writing.
