Good day to you, Ehud.

Perhaps I will give up my comfortable place as a professional reader, a layman, and express my opinion.

I will say right away that I usually follow the development of events for a long time, consider different sources with opposing opinions, before speaking out. Therefore, what I will say now is based more on indirect information, assumptions and logical conclusions, because I do not have facts, like many who are trying to analyze this situation.

Firstly, you described the event (let's call it this way for now, so as not to give it a more precise definition) as I imagine it. Even now it is possible to determine the range from "simple espionage in favor of an interested party" to "anti-state conspiracy".

It seems to me that the identity of the spy is not connected either with Hamas or with the fact that he is an Air Force officer. This is more likely due to the fact that he is an activist of a leftist or anarchist organization like "Achim le Nezek" (this is a deliberate mistake), who are most easily recruited for such work based on hatred of Netanyahu and hatred of the right-wing government. I have seen many cases where they harmed the country, the citizens, without thinking that they are causing irreparable harm with their actions, in the confidence that hatred of the government justifies their actions.

Now let's think about who he and those who supervise him might be working for. I don't think it is Hamas or another terrorist organization, and not Iran.

Most likely, these are circles in the American administration (possibly intelligence agencies), which do not have full influence on the actions of the Israeli government and who want to be sure that the Israeli government, army and political system will not present surprises and will act as the administration needs. For this, they need sensitive information, and not only at the level of the General Staff, but also at lower levels. The far worse option is to work for some international organizations that also want to have influence in order to contain, accuse and discredit Israel. The motives, reasons and methods of recruitment are the same.

Of course, these interested parties can share this information with Israel's enemies to achieve their goals. Therefore, even if this spy believed that his actions were justified by his twisted ideology and aimed at the good of the country, this is real espionage.

These are all my assumptions, which are based on unconfirmed information.

In addition, Avi Weiss's presentation is very weak, from the point of view of investigative journalism, and I foresee that a campaign will soon begin to ridicule his investigation, accusing him of incompetence and lies. This will also be a marker of hitting the target.

We will continue to follow what is happening, because it does not matter what we assume now and how interesting this story is, it is much more important to know exactly what really happened.

I'm confused. To whom did the spy "disperse mission-critical intelligence"?

To Hamas? the Americans?

I have a theory about all this but I won't say it until I get that cleared up. Thanks!

One of those. I see you are reading my mind.

No, just deductive reasoning.

In either case, I think this whole story is a huge psy-op. There is no spy who infiltrated numerous meetings. The entire idea is almost laughable.

Every top official at every meeting transmitted every piece of information to the Americans.

The Americans then transmitted this information to Qatar. Which means Hamas.

Worse -- some of the Israelis (meaning the top guys in these meetings) took the initiative to get on their knees & beg Hamas to control the shabaab, trying to make a deal with the devil until the last, instead of getting their shit together and ordering the area to be retaken, and cleared of the filth. Even after the invasion they were in their "Hamas isn't the problem" dreamland.

No spy necessary - just a bunch of incompetent assholes.

There may be a real name - in which case he's a fall guy - but they're all guilty of exactly what you're saying this spy is guilty of.

That's my take.

Oh also, if anyone knows that name he should name him. Break the law and go to jail. This is all total nonsense.

Because you have a good heart you cannot imagine the unimaginable. Since my last post, things are looking worse than I imagined. I am going to break for Shabbat soon. I have some followers who are actual journalists. I hope they take the ball and run with it.

Thank you for disagreeing with me in the nicest possible way, but I do not think that my theory is one that comes from an optimistic point of view. It's far worse than the spy who came in from the cold theory.

Shabbat shalom.

Deep state, leftist globalists are insidiously at the top of every government. This smells of America’s brutal regime changing intel services. Heartbreaking it may involve a top rank IAF hero. Of course America has military rank wearing skirts so, of course everything is compromised.

Thank you so much Ehud. My Ivrit is still very good and I immediately subscribed to TOV. Un-be-lievable stuff. Truly the scandal of the century for Israel and a huge disappointment for me personally. I know many of my Israeli friends suffer from overwhelming Bibi Derangement Syndrome. Bringing down Bibi has become their supreme goal in life. That can only lead to ugly outcomes

You might be interested to hear, last night a veteran member of the political left said plainly that Oslo and the expulsion from Gush Katif were mistakes, and that it is time for the center-left Israelis to admit it, and regardless of what they think about the person Netanyahu, he called for them to join in a unity government with Bibi until final victory. I personally was amazed. I hope it is a sign of things to comes.
